Easter Seals Wisconsin
– For over 90 years, Easter Seals Wisconsin has provided children and adults with disabilities a unique camping experience that allows campers to live without limits during their time at camp. Each year, 2,000 campers, each with a different set of needs and abilities, attend camp to participate in a wide variety of social and recreational activities in a welcoming, accessible environment.
Easter Seals Wisconsin offers two camp experiences that cater to specific needs. Camp Wawbeek welcomes both children and adults who are excited to try new things in a fun, inclusive environment. Wawbeek campers have the opportunity to try high ropes courses and zip lining. Campers gain a sense of independence by trying new activities without limitations. The second camp experience is Respite Camp, where campers with several severe disabilities can go to receive individualized care while enjoying a camp experience mirroring that of their peers. Respite campers enjoy playing on the slip’n’slide and making new friends while allowing their attentive 24- hour caregivers relaxing time away, knowing their loved ones are having fun in a safe, nurturing environment.

Each year, over 2,000 campers get the chance to make special memories alongside new and old friends and caring camp staff. Wawbeek camper, Henry attends camp each year. To him, camp is an exciting place full of new adventures including dance parties and camp sleepovers. The people he has met at camp over the years make it really feel like home.
